Henry Cowherd’s project:
“Implementation of a standardized social-media and tech focused education system specifically specifically for users by the tech companies themselves.
One idea: a clearly presented, mandatory to read, warning for first time phone and social media users that encourages users to be open-minded and constructively critical of how their peers and idols portray themselves on social media and how to avoid falling into the temptations to ‘flex’, or boast one’s material status to gain popularity, on social media.”
How our projects may influence each other’s:
Henry’s mandatory-to-read warnings for first time phone and social media users falls in line with Halenur and I’s idea about artificial intelligence learning user behavior and adjusting the iOS software to reduce the possibility of mental and emotional damage in people over time. Halenur and I may be able to incorporate Henry’s idea into the AI. The mandatory warning may not even have to show once, but multiple times whenever the AI deems the user is practicing unhealthy behavior on social media. Perhaps Henry may find value in using our AI to enhance his control over the mental health of the users that he is targeting since a portion of our target is his as well.
